Breath of God

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trump shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 

The English word “moment” is found in only three verses of the New Testament (KJV).  Here, in Corinthians 15:51-52, the word is NOT stigme [G4743] as in Luke 4:5, “And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time”, NOR is it parautika [G3910] as in 2 Corinthians 4:17, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”, but it is atomos [G823], which has been transliterated as a measurement of time because the Greeks believed the ATOM to be indivisible - that is,  “uncuttable” and therefore a represention of the smallest fraction of space, hence "time”.  But what if the word “atomos” was really meant to be translated in it’s literal sense - that is, atomical structure?

“In atomical structure, at the twinkling of an eye. . .

the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

In the Book of John, Jesus repsonds to Nicodemus’ question on whether a man can enter into his mother’s womb a second time and be born again, saying. . ."Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he CANNOT ENTER into the Kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)

This statement becomes very interesting when we consider that the name for the smallest element on the Periodic Table is Hydrogen, which literally means “born of water” (hydro-gen).  

  • “Hydro” stemming from the Greek hydor (ὕδωρ) [G5204] meaning: WATER

  • “Gen” stemming from the Greek word gennáō (γεννάω) [G1080] meaning: BORN OF, BEGETTING, FORMING

So then, in order for me to understand how being “changed”, or “born of water” are intricately linked to the entrance of person into the Kingdom of God, I conducted a study on the elements which make up water - that is, Hydrogen and Oxygen.  What I found is that WATER (H2O) is 18 times heavier than a single atom of Hydrogen - Hydrogen being the lightest of all the elements.

  • Hydrogen (H) = 1.01 amu (atomic mass unit)

  • Oxygen (O) = 16.00 amu

  • H2 + O = (1.01 x 2) + 16.00= 18.02 amu

When using the number of Protons and Neutrons fround in Water (H2O) as “weight” measures, we get the same result:

  • Hydrogen has 1 Proton and NO Neutrons

  • Oxygen has 8 Protons and 8 Neutrons for a total of 16

  • H2 + O = (1 x 2) + (8 + 8) = 18

Also worth noting, is the number of electrons present in each molecule of Water:

  • Hydrogen = 1

  • Oxygen = 8

  • H2 + O = (1 x 2) + 8 = 10

To put all of this into perspective, the average human body consists of roughly 35,000,000,000,000 (trillion) cells, with each cell containing about 70% water.  Not to mention that, as a whole, the brain consists of 73% water, the lungs 83% and blood a whopping 90%!  Now recall the words of God to Moses in Leviticus 17:11, “For the LIFE of the flesh is in the BLOOD: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an ATONEMENT for your SOULS: for it is the BLOOD that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

  • “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and BREATHED into his nostrils the BREATH of LIFE; and man became a LIVING SOUL.” (Genesis 2:7)

This “soul” is the part of man that controls his thoughts, his will, and his emotions. And, in the beginning, man’s soul was in perfect harmony with his spirit, that is God. It wasn’t until man’s soul (Woman) was taken out of him that this harmony was disrupted and then ultimately broken - the Woman eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and giving it “to her husband with her”, who then ate of it also.

  • “For My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken ME the fountain of LIVING WATERS, and have hewn them out cisterns; broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” (Jeremiah 2:13)

  • “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into EVERLASTING LIFE.” (John 4:14)

  • “He that BELIEVETH ON ME, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of LIVING WATER.” (John 7:38)

So then, if everything in the natural world is a type of those things found in the spiritual world, it would seem to me that learning how water is formed - how it reacts to its environment. . .as well as how it acts as the “sustainer” of all life forms - would be very helpful in understanding our own process of becoming “like Christ”.  With that said, let us take a look a what water is and does.

“The mass of a water molecule is between the mass of diatomic hydrogen (H2) and the mass of diatomic oxygen (O2). This means that water molcules are lighter than typical molcules that make up air. WATER VAPOR, therefore, is actually pretty light. But, at room temperature, hydrogen and oxygen are both gases, while water is a liquid, and liquids are almost always much denser than gases, making liquid water much more dense than either hydrogen or oxygen.

So, why is water a liquid when the two reactants are both gases? The answer is POLARITY. Hydrogen and oxygen molecules are both symmetrical. Water, on the other hand (and for some very complicated reasons. . .) is NOT symmetrical insomuch as it is positively charged on one side and negatively charged on the other.  Since positive and negative charges attract one another, water molecules tend to clump together when they are close, thus pulling them into a dense liquid. [The more protons an atom has the more “pull” it will have on its electrons.] By analogy, it would be like tossing a bunch of tiny magnets in close proximity to one another where they would quickly pull together into a single, tight mass - whereas small bits of a NON-magnetic metal would just spread out.

This is the reality of most gases. Gases are generally NON-polar, which allow them to float around in the air and remain separate. But any polarity means that the two molcules that come close to each other will tend to pull together, and if you have a lot of the same polarized molecules that are close to one another, they’ll pull into a single mass of liquid - at which point that liquid FALLS.” - Geoffrey Widdison, BS & MEng in Chemical Engineering

  • “For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the VAPOUR [breath] thereof: Which the CLOUDS do drop and distil upon man abundantly. Also can any understand the SPREADINGS of the clouds, or the NOISE of his tabernacle? Behold, he spreadeth his LIGHT upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea. For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth MEAT in abundance. With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud [veil?] that cometh betwixt. The NOISE thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the VAPOUR.“ (Job 36:27-33)

  • “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of Righteousness ARISE with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as CALVES of the stall.” (Malachi 4:2)

  • “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the Day Star ARISE in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1:19)

Clouds are often used in the Bible to symbolize the Saints of God.  So then, in my mind at least, clouds must have some important features that can be translated into the spiritual nature of the “new man”, or New Creation. What I learned in doing some research is that the density between water vapor and air is NOT enough to make a single water vapor  molecule “rise up” through the air. That’s not how clouds form. When clouds form, an entire mass of air rises due to SUNSHINE heating the gound beneath it. As this mass of air rises into the cooler temperatures found in the atmosphere - the air cools to the point where water vapor condenses - forming clouds. Out of these clouds, tiny dropplets begin the fall down.  But, in the case of thunder storms, the particles begin bouncing off of one another so rapidly that electric sparks of super-heated, ionized air (up to 60,000 degrees farhenheit!) “explode” into bursts of energy we call “bolts” of lightening.  The sound we hear following these bursts of energy are the super charged particles as they are “cooling off”.  The longer the thunder rolls, the longer it takes to cool the particles and the air around them.  

  • For as LIGHTENING cometh out of the east, and SHINETH even unto the west: SO SHALL ALSO the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24:27)

  • “God THUNDERETH marvellously with His voice; great things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend.” (Job 37:5)

  • “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit [BREATH] of God moved upon the face of the WATERS.” (Genesis 1:2)

  • “The VOICE of the Lord is upon the WATERS: the God of glory THUNDERETH: the Lord is upon MANY WATERS.” (Psalm 29:3)

  • “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb STOOD on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a VOICE from heaven, as the voice of many WATERS, and as the voice of a great THUNDER: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.” (Revelation 14:1-3)

The “voice” of the Father is His WORD. . .His very BREATH. . .even Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the scripture says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . .And THE WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:1 & 14)

  • “For our CONVERSATION is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our VILE body, that it may be fashioned like unto His GLORIOUS body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.” (Philippians 3:21)

  • “And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the STARS of the heaven, and as the SAND which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed MY VOICE.” (Genesis 22:15-18)

Scientist and astronomers imagine that the universe came into being via a “big bang” and I couldn’t agree more! I believe the thundering voice of Our Father went out into the emptiness of space, filling it with super-heated particles of gaseous vapors that are still visible today in the form of STARS.  As these stars burned, the super-charged particles they released clumped together (whether rapidly, or over time. . .) to form the planets - the most perfect and fertile among them being the Earth.  Thus, nearly all of the elements that make up the human body were once stars.  We are, quite literally, “stardust”.

Now, coming to Matthew chapter three we read. . .

  • “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the HOLY GHOST, and with FIRE: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge His FLOOR, and gather His wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the CHAFF with unquenchable FIRE.” (Matthew 3:11 & 12)

I am reminded hear of how Satan provoked David into numbering the children of Israel, which angered the Lord greatly. David was then faced with three forms of punishment from which he had to chose: “Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel.” David chose to be given over to the hand of the Lord for three days saying, “. . .let me fall now into the hand of the Lord; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.”  David knew from experience that man is incapable of restraining his vengeance - exacting it to the fullest - and so he opted for the righteous, but merciful judgment of God instead.

  • “So the Lord sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men. And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the Lord beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the Lord stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.” (1 Chronicles 21:14-16)

Now compare this with Revelation 7:9-17. . .

  • “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto LIVING FOUNTAINS OF WATER: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”

  • “And he [Jesus] came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” (Luke 4:16-21)

We are not told why Jesus stopped reading mid-way through Isaiah 61:1-3, although I believe it is possible that He may have been leaving a bread crumb for the Saints of God today. . .

  • “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,  to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. . .and the DAY OF VENGEANCE of our God; to comfort all that MOURN; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of HEAVINESS; that they might be called TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, THE PLANTING OF THE LORD, that he might be glorified. (Isaiah 61:1-3)

“So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:

It [Jesus] shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,

and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:11

“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.

I am the root and the offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star.”

Revelation 22:16
